Welcome Back to "I in IRIS"!

It's been a while since we last posted an "I in IRIS," so for those of you who are new here, let us give you a quick rundown. Once a month, we spotlight a member of the IRIS team by asking them a few questions to help you get to know the people who make up our incredible team.

To kick things off again, we're shining the spotlight on one of the earliest IRISians, Tiana, our Content and Creative Marketing Lead.

How would you describe your role at IRIS?

I’ve been at IRIS for nearly four years, and my role has evolved significantly during that time. I would describe my position as a dynamic mix of marketing, design, user experience analysis, and a touch of event management. No two days are the same, which I think reflects the variety in my responsibilities.

Typically, my week involves creating social media content, enhancing our website to better showcase our products, developing compelling sales collateral to help our team effectively communicate our product and brand story, and coming up with creative strategies to generate leads and attract new customers.

I also work on design projects that elevate our brand’s visual identity. My favourite part of the job is planning events—overseeing the entire process from concept to execution is incredibly rewarding. As a marketer, we rarely get to see customers enjoying the product firsthand, so events provide a welcome change and a unique opportunity to connect with our audience directly and observe how our marketing strategies are performing in real-time.

What has it been like working for IRIS from its IRIS Flow Headphones days all the way to now? Any key achievements you’re especially proud of?

It has been quite a journey! We've transitioned from a B2C business focused on a product most people could easily relate to—the emotional power of audio and music—to a B2B company focused on selling software solutions primarily to call centres. It’s been a significant shift, but our passion for audio and human listening has always remained at the core of everything we do.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of this transformation, ensuring our brand identity and ethos stay true to our origins. One of my proudest achievements has been managing and executing our global events strategy. These events have been crucial in maintaining our connection with both new and existing audiences, particularly through showcasing our product in real time with agents taking live calls at our stands in a creative and impactful way.

As a lover of all things creative - have you got any recommendations for art exhibits, gigs, or experiences you’ve been to lately?

I recently visited the Fragile Beauty exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum, showcasing photographs from Sir Elton John and David Furnish home collections. As someone who loves photography, I’m always drawn to how a single image can convey so much meaning and emotion, and this exhibit was a perfect example of that.

Another standout for me was LUX: New Wave of Contemporary Art. I’m passionate about experiential design—the kind of design that fully immerses and engages the audience—and this exhibition did just that.

I also recently experienced the ABBA Voyage, which I have to mention for one simple reason: the incredible technology that makes you feel as if you’re in the room with the artists, even though they’re holograms. It’s a fantastic example of how modern tech can transport you into another world, in this case, the vibrant and timeless world of ABBA.

Quickfire questions:

App you couldn’t live without?

Hmm tough one - I’d have to say Spotify, but then again living in the UK I’d be dead without the weather app

Favourite/least favourite noise?

Favourite noise - the sound of the birds that sing at sunset at my home in Zimbabwe.

Guilty pleasure?

Eating, eating, eating. I’m just a foodie.

Favourite holiday destination?

Mozambique

Something your colleagues don’t know about you?

I’m currently working on funding and producing a project I designed a few years ago called Kumba Kit. It's aimed at empowering young girls in rural, poverty-stricken areas of Zimbabwe by teaching them how to make their own sanitary pads, helping to combat period poverty.
